Radiovixen.com came from me writing constantly in several of those Mead black and white composition notebooks because I thought regular notebooks were lame. It eventually, with the advent of blogging, started on LiveJournal, moved to blogger and then in 2003, it’s own website radiovixen.com
I am a 30 something former radio DJ who occasionally does a bit of radio for fun and am working on starting a local podcast or radio show with a few of my friends. I started my radio career with an internship at KMXV 93.3 in Kansas City in 1999. I worked on the morning show as a broadcasting intern. I then moved to a seasonal job at Star 102 running the boards for the weekly countdowns shows like Casey Kasem. I then moved to KCHZ Z95.7 in Kansas City in 2000. There, I did board work to start and learned how to DJ. I did on air work for every air shift, from a stint on the morning show where I sucked at reading the news to late late at night. I also was the administrative assistant for the programming director, the producer for our local top 20 countdown (The Top 20 with Just Plain Dave) and many other production jobs around the station till 2005. I still love radio and miss working there on occasion. The days I don’t miss it is when a station is off the air at 2:00 AM in the winter when the roads are covered with snow.
I love to write and I’m working on several different projects, mainly myself as a project. I am also a diabetic and occasionally talk about life without sugar and what happens when you must have sugar or someone will get hurt.
I talk about music, movies, knitting projects, weight loss, not doing harm to other people in your city even though you really want to and on the rare occasion, I get a bit real. That may be in the form of a rant or rave about something that’s bothering me, politics, health, my pet cats, or whatever that may be at the moment. Wednesdays are always Wayback Wednesday where I feature some song or something from my wayback years. If you have suggestions, let me know.
I am generally a pretty laid back person who loves to laugh; although I tend to turn everything back to how zombies are going to kill us all. I like to think I can cook (and look like) Nigella Lawson and when I’m not mixing up a batch of cupcakes you can find me tweaking this blog, reeking havoc on the internet (often Twitter or Facebook), or finding a way to make a margarita that will not raise my blood sugar.
If you are dying to read my political writings, you can find me at The Persistent Conservative or check out the politics tag here. I am looking to branch our more as a writer (read: published), so guest blogs, suggestions, opinions and constructive criticism is always appreciated.

I have decided to adopt you. I hope you don’t mind. You’re just that good.
